Blind Date
Chloe's POV
"I can't believe I agreed to do this." I said nervously to my cousin as I got dressed.
"You have nothing to worry about." She said.
I turned around to face my cousin, who was sitting on my bed. "You set me up on a blind date, Lois. And I have no idea who it is, for all I know he could be some psycho." I told her. A lot of the guys I have gone out with, some how turn out to be a meteor freak or something who wanted to kill me. I remember one guy I had gone out with that turned out to be okay. It was when I had my internship at the Daily Planet. Jimmy was his name.
"I highly doubt he is some psycho."
"Well if he does turn out to be one. I'm never going to speak to you for a very, very long time." I said and with that I left the dorm and headed towards the restaurant where I was meeting my blind date.
Minutes Later
I walked into the restaurant where I was supposedly meeting my blind date. "Seat for one." The person at the front desk said as she grabbed a menu.
"No, I'm here for a date rose167." I asked.
"Yes, yes. Blind Date. What a nice man please come this way." She said walking through the tables.
I followed her. As I'm following the woman, I'm looking around the restaurant. I see a young man sitting alone at a table and that table was the direction that I was heading. Finally I arrive. The man sitting down at the table stands up.
"A waiter will be with you two in a few minutes." The woman said.
"Well not what I suspected you to be." The man said.
"Then I should leave then." I replied. I started to leave, but an arm stopped me. I turn around.
"I didn't mean that in a bad way." He said smiling at me.
"Then what did you mean?" I said wondering.
"Just say I haven't been getting anyone as beautiful as you."
"Oh come on." I laughed. "That's the lamest thing I've ever heard."
"It's true. Please let's continue with the date. I would really like to get to know you."
I nodded. "Alright fine. Let's do." I said to him. May as well. I don't have anything better to do. I thought to myself. I go back to the table and sit down.
"Now why don't we start by you telling me your name."
"You first." I told him.
"Alright. The name's Bruce, Bruce Wayne." He said.
"Bruce Wayne as in the richest man in New Gotham."
"So you know."
"Are you kidding I basically know everything there is to know about you." I said not letting him finish whatever he was going to say.
"And how is that?"
"I work at the Daily Planet. Chloe Sullivan. Do you ever read the Daily Planet paper?"
"Yes. Your work is great."
"Thanks. Just wondering how a guy like you comes all the way to Smallville for a blind date. I would think you would have better stuff to do."
"Will I haven't been going out that much and Dick kind of set me up for this."
"Not the only one."
"So someone set you up for this too?"
"My cousin."
The waiter came a few minutes later, and took their orders. When he was gone, we continued talking.
"So Chloe how long have you been living in Smallville?"
"Since the eight grade in middle school."
"And you like it here?"
"It's fine. But you can say a lot of weird things happen in Smallville."
"Like what?"
"Meteor freaks."
"Meteor freaks?"
"Yeah. What about you? You been living in New Gotham your whole life?"
"Yes."
Their meals came just then. When everything was settled, the conversation turned to more general things, like videos and books, and she found out he wasn't nearly as bad as she thought he would be.
Narrator's POV
Two Hour Later
They had finish, and Chloe and Bruce were now walking towards Chloe's car.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Miss Sullivan," he said sincerely.
"You too, Bruce," Chloe said as they stop at her car.
Bruce then handed her his business card. "If you are ever in New Gotham, my number's on there," he said.
"Will do Bruce."
Bruce kindly opens her car door for her. Chloe gets in. "Bye," she said softly as Bruce shuts the car door for her.
Bruce just watches Chloe drive away and out of sight. He turns around and walks towards the limo that's sitting not far from him. Reaching the limo an older looking man opens the door for him.
"How did it go Master Bruce?" He said.
"Just wonderful Alfred." Bruce answered getting into the limo.
Alfred then shuts it and goes around to the driver side and gets in. "Will there be any chance that you would be seeing the woman again?" Alfred asked Bruce as he started driving.
"I hope so." Bruce said.
